I'm Still Here

What, you thought I'd forgotten about this little blog? Sorry. You can't escape me. Unless you just stop reading it. That would be kinda sad though.

Yes, I'm still here. My grand plans for keeping up with the Pinterest Challenge have been temporarily thwarted due to fibro flairs and a certain small person being cranky; he shall remained unnamed for the time being. 

Just when I was starting to feel like my normal skeletal structure was reinhabiting my body, the small one came down with what I thought was a head cold. Snot and fussies ensued, thus condemning me to a temporary life of hermit-ness. I left the house only to vote on Tuesday evening after Derek got home from work (you know you need help when you take pleasure in standing in line for an hour), and to venture out for crackers on Wednesday because I felt like I was coming down with whatever the little man had. Beyond that, I had no contact with the outside world for about ten days. Until today. 

Finally, the current of the snot stream coming out of Toby's nose slowed down enough for me to take him to spend some time with my mother in-law, while I browsed some nearby stores for a couple of hours. I didn't buy anything, but I enjoyed the opportunity to see other human beings besides my wee one and Derek, and the occasional glance I'd catch of myself in the mirror; however, I had been replaced by some pale, greasy-haired troll, so it was more disturbing than exciting.

Oh, and the oddest thing happened. Not really odd; more like one of those moments where I wonder how long before my real mommy-smarts kick in. Just a little while ago I was poking around in Toby's mouth because that's just what moms do (don't even try to tell me otherwise). I discovered that he has yet another tooth breaking in. That'll be three in one month. Yeah, my kids' mouth is an overachiever. Totally explains the sudden onset of more than moderate unhappiness and thick nose liquid. One day I'll be awake enough to put two and two together. 

So now it's Friday and I'm ignoring the dust bunny's to reach out and say "hello". In the midst of my agoraphobia I did manage to take some pictures of some things I did to pass the time, so I'll try to post them soon...
