House of Sickies

I guess it was bound to happen eventually but we are all fighting sickness of some kind. Toby got it first, I'm guessing he swapped snot with another kid from Sunday School at church. He woke up with a gooey nose and a huskey voice on Wednesday. Yesterday I woke up feeling like a train wreck and Toby and I spent the whole day camped out on the couch.

I felt like such a lazy mom keeping "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood" auto play thanks to my bff Netflix. I literally could not do anything. Finally around 3ish in the afternoon I started to get that shaky feeling I get when I spike a fever so I called up to my parent's house and my dad told me to bring Toby over. I cannot tell you how spoiled and blessed I am to have my parent's live only three minutes away from me. It's awesome.

So I took Toby up to Ya Ya and Poppi's house, came home and slept and slept and slept. Derek came home around 4 and said that his throat was kinda sore. Boo. We both napped a bit more, than Derek went to get Toby and ended up staying for dinner.

I couldn't find the thermometer but I could tell just from how I was feeling that I definitely had a fever. It was miserable. My whole body hurt like it hurt when I was in labor with Toby. Really unfun stuff.

My inner hippy earth momma knew that things would have to run their course. Of course I did dope up on vitamin c, lots of fluids, and an amazing tincture call "kick ass immune". No lie, that's what it's called and it's excellent for any kind of sickness that you have or feel coming on. Knocks it right out.

After Derek and Toby came home we put Toby to bed and then I went right back to bed. I was actually moaning in pain, I have no idea what kind of wacko illness it was. My head felt like it was going to explode. Derek brought me some sudophed and ibuprofen and I decided to jump (more like limp) into the shower which helped a lot. After that I went back to bed and slept hard.

Woke up this morning feeling better than last night. No more body pain, but my head still felt like it was a little pressurey. I must have been slinging snot in my sleep or something because I woke up in the middle of the night and realized that Derek was sleeping in the guest room. Sorry babe. Poor guy couldn't escape the germs; he had a sore throat this morning and left work early.

I was really bummed that I had to reschedule my haircut for next week. Oh wells, I'm sure the stylist is glad I decided not to give her my nasties. I did have to venture out to procure a few necessities for the weekend. I'm still kinda out of it so I had my first semi-homemade moment and picked up a rotisserie chicken for dinner. Its delicious smell as it heats in my oven is totally making up for my shortcomings.

Now we're all home trying not to share snot and get better pronto. I hate being sick. Toby seems to be on the mend, still a few leftover boogers.

Anywhoo that's where we're at. Pray for healing for the Carlson clan!

Happy Friday everyone, Shabbat Shalom, Good Night, and Adios.
