Hot Dog Days

So yeah, here I sit in my perch on the couch. I'm trying to cool off after a long, crazy day. Today was grocery shopping day and because we live in the boonies, I like to get an early start. However, because we live in the boonies, any time I'm "in town" I try to make as many stops as I can so I don't have to make lots of mini trips throughout the rest of the week. We (Toby and I) left the house at 9:15 and didn't get back until after 2.

Also, it's like a gabillion degrees out there. But I am not complaining- I will take raging heat any day over cold weather and/or windy days.

So shopping with a 2 year old boy is fun... mostly. Actually Toby did really well. Most of the time I leave him with my mom or my mother-in-law when I run errunds because I value my sanity. But today neither grandmas were available so I had to be brave and step out with Tobes in tow. He did really good. No meltdowns, no crying fits, no screaming (oh and yes, all of those things have happened before, hence why I normally leave his little butt behind). Toby was, however, fascinated with how echo-y some stores can be so he yelled random noises a few times. Oh and he did open the door to the dressing room whilst I was in between trying on pants so the nice old lady at the desk got to see my lovely pink Hanes undies. Sorry ma'am.

Now we're home and I'm procrastinating like I do about putting the groceries away. I'm enjoying my lime popsicle way too much to care.

The only thing that would make this better would be if it had some rum in it.

So instead I'm blogging here and patting myself on the back for snagging these adorable mini Birkenstock wannabes for Toby:

Aaaand now the back patting has ceased because I just looked up and saw this:

It's like popsicle homicide.

*sigh* Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go.

    1. Thankfully my "forensic kit" seemed to do the job at getting those stains out ;) Not gonna lie, there are many times lately where I think to myself "I appreciate my mom so much!". Love you mom!

  2. This made me smile. I know I don't know you very well, but I could hear your voice in it. The way I hear it when you're at church. Toby is adorable, btw.
